Linda J. Brown

Linda Joanne Brown received her B.A. from Duke University and her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Immediately after law school, she had the privilege of clerking for the California Court of Appeal, First District, Division One, with Justices Molinari, Elkington and Sims. At the court she worked first as a Writ Clerk and then as an Appellate Clerk. During the two years with the court, she also taught legal research and writing at Hastings.
She began representing injured workers in Northern California in 1976.
She received her workers’ compensation Certificate of Specialization on April 12, 1983 and thereafter served for the State Bar on the Board of Legal Specialization as Chair and member of the Worker’s Compensation Law Advisory Commission from 1989 to 1993.
In 2013, Linda was honored to receive the California Applicants’ Attorneys Association, San Francisco Chapter, Attorney of the Year Award. In 2018, she received the Applicant Attorney of the Year Award from the California Lawyers Association.
Karina Kowler Delzell

Karina Delzell received her B.A. in Economics from Sonoma State University and her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. While attending law school Karina worked as a law clerk for the Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office. Immediately upon passing the bar exam, she transitioned from a law clerk to a Deputy District Attorney. Karina was a Deputy District Attorney for ten years, where she spent nearly every day in a courtroom litigating cases. In 2005 she was presented an award for Prosecutor of the Year.
Karina wanted to continue advocating for the public safety personnel she had spent so many years working alongside, and in 2014 she began working with Linda J. Brown and representing First Responders.
In addition to her work as a Deputy District Attorney, Karina is married to a Police Sergeant, making her uniquely aware of the physical and mental struggles that law enforcement faces, as well as the burden of shift-work on all safety personnel and their families.
